slimfast recall?

According to The Associated Press, all canned Slim-Fast drinks have been recalled by Unilever PLC’s U.S. subsidiary because of the possibility of bacterial contamination like Bacilus cereus that could cause,
i)Diarrhea ii) Nausea and vomiting.
Of course, that might speed up your weight loss, but it sounds rather unpleasant. Luckily, Unilever PLC says that the probability of serious health problems is remote.

The products were sold across the United States and Canada, so check your cabinets and fridge. The affected drinks came in cartons of 4, 6 or 12 steel cans, 11 ounces in size, and were also sold individually. The recall was issued Thursday. No other Slim-Fast products, such as meal and snack bars or powdered shakes, are involved in the recall,
CBS News reported,

U.S. Food and Drug Administration spokeswoman Rita Chappelle said the recall affects 10 million cans distributed in the United States. Unilever said on Friday that they have halted production and are trying to find what caused the contamination at the company’s production facility in Covington, Tennessee. For more on the recall, visit the FDA website. In the meantime, if you need a replacement, I have always been a big fan of Atkins protein shakes in Mocha and Chocolate. Lots of protein without all the sugar!
